United recalled Danny Welbeck to the starting line up, a decision that paid off as he was named MOTM by Sky’s Gary Neville.
The Reds domianted the first half with the very promising midfield trio of Carrick, Cleverley and Kagawa playing some neat football, liking well with Welbeck and Van Persie to create enough chances to have the home crowd wondering how it was only 1-0 at HT.
A second did come, and despite Liverpool having the better of the 2nd half, United’s defence, leaky this season, held firm to see the Reds home.
Manchester United finally drew a game this season and put an end to their recent winning streak after a 1-1 draw at Swansea City.

United were rarely threatened, and had several gears in reserve that were never called for. Robin van Persie continued his brilliant form since his summer move, and ensured Arsenal fans remembered the loss of their star player by scoring the opener and looking dangerous throughoutthe game.
Manchester United bounced back from their disappointing loss to Spurs last time out with a brilliant 3-0 away win at Newcastle.
United stuck to the same ‘Diamond’ formation that saw them beat Cluj in midweek and dominated the opening 20 mins of the game, deservedly taking a 2-0 lead.
The Reds then showed a much more improved defensive display when Newcastle took control. United sealed the win half way through the 2nd half to jump to 2nd in the table.
