Manchester United again came from behind to salvage a draw at West Ham in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup thanks to some injury time magic.
United will be in the hat for next round draw but will need to see off West Ham at the second attempt in the replay next week.
The Reds rested some key players and started with the diamond formation seen a few times this season. It helped United start really well, with Scholes, Cleverley, Kagawa, and the pushed forward Rafael played some neat passing football.
Disappointingly for United, once ahead they allowed West Ham to get back into the game and the home side pushed on. There were not many chances for United to draw level into a few moments of pure genius rescued the game.
Here are my top 5 GIF moments from the game…
1. Rafael floor control
After being knocked to the floor, the ball is ricocheted straight at him and whilst on his knees, Rafael controls the ball on his chest, takes a touch as he gets to his feet and moves with the ball.
2. United counter attack feat. Kagawa and Welbeck
Started by a neat little flick clearance by Hernandez, Shinji Kagawa does brilliantly to hold up the ball and then plays a wonderful pass into the run off Danny Welbeck who uses his momentum to knock the ball past the defender and run at goal.
He perhaps should have tried to find Hernandez but he is a striker desperate for a goal and after his great work would have felt he could finish
3. Nice United move feat. Kagawa, Hernandez and Welbeck
I really liked this little move as United play around the West Ham area. Nice headed pass by Kagawa and flick pass by Javier Hernandez who is then almost put in on goal by a neat Danny Welbeck attempted pass.
4. Paul Scholes pass, Danny Welbeck touch
Almost shadowing what was to come, Paul Scholes pings a lovely ball into Danny Welbeck who’s first touch is brilliant. His attempted skill to cut back inside is blocked but in typical Welbeck fashion he did win the ball back which led to a Cleverley shot.
5. Ryan Giggs pass, Robin van Persie touch & Finish
The movement. The vision. The pass execution. The first touch. The second touch. The Finish. The Class.
