12 GIFs of Cantona: No 10 – Chip finish

On the 10th GIF of Cantona, Beautifully Red have to me…

…THAT run and gorgeous chip finish!

Eric Cantona goal v Sunderland 21/12/1996

The goal that tops most of Eric’s Best Moment Montages. Its his iconic moment. That chip, that goal, that celebration.

With United struggling for form (9 points from previous 24 available) and sitting 5th in the League table, they started their title charge (25 out next 27 points to go top!) with a 5-0 win over Sunderland.
United were already 4-0 up thanks to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (2), Nicky Butt and an Eric penalty when in the 79th minute, Eric gave us something special..

You know how it goes. From the footwork to the celebration – class.

Best part about it was the way he made space. Ballet.

Also, the third one – THAT’S NOT ENOUGH SPACE TO CHIP THE KEEPER, CANTONA. YOU’RE A NUTTER. HE’S ON HIS LINE. LEAVE IT OUT.
