Manchester United made it 2 home wins from 2 for the week with a 1-0 win over West Ham United to keep them top top of the table.
Injuries and suspension limited Sir Alex Fergusons options as he again choose to use the Diamond formation seen several times this season.
Anderson got a deserved start after some nice cameos and did well. Failing to find the 2nd goal meant a very nervy second half, but our defence was superb with the 3 younger players Rafael, Evans and Smalling excelling.
It was a game of very few chances, but United created some great moments of beauty. Here are my Top 5 GIFs from the game…
1. Rafael tackle
Its not only skill and passes we like to appreciate on this site and this first moment was all about defending. Faced one on one with a the tricky Matt Jarvis, Rafael displayed text book defending as he kept his eye on the ball and when the chance arrived, made the tackle.
2. Anderson pass
Moment of the game for me. After dribbling away from a tackle, Anderson executes the most stunning of passes with the outside of his boot.
3. Anderson flick pass and shot
Anderson starts the move with some lovely skill to find Robin van Perise and he eventually gets the ball back and hits a good effort that the keeper parries.
4. Anderson pass to release Hernandez
Another great pass from Anderson to brilliant find the run of Javier Hernandez who went on to fire a shot wide and over. Anderson is showing some great form at present. Hope he starts the next game.
5. Robin van Persie skill
The ball is played into Van Persie who then shows some great touches to lure 2 West Ham players into the ball before flicking a pass to Ashley Young.

That Rafael tackle, looks normal but its not easy, the number of times fullbacks concede penalties , freekicks or get beaten easily by commiting to the tackle is there for everyone to see. Just watch Ramos, he’s not good at this either.
Spot on. See full backs end up in their ass as the they get skinned plenty.
He is really improving his defending!

It was Smalling in the first half.
There was one where he had a bad touch and then had to head it as he moved away from the attacker. Almost made it

That Anderson-pass is quite something. Too bad we couldn’t benefit more from those sort of moments scoringwise.
Apart from working hard an providing dynamism and energy to our midfield Anderson always has a few moments of sheer brilliance each game. I know there’s a couple more great spots or runs from him that didn’t make the gifs. He’s a joy to behold when on form!

During the match, at about the 53rd to 55th minutes, there was a series of lovely one touch passes our guys made around the Hammer’s penalty box. Can you post the GIF of that?
