12 GIFs of Cantona: Day 2 – Counter attacking brilliance…

On the 2nd GIF of Cantona, Beautifully Red gave to me…

…a brilliant counter attacking goal.

Eric Cantona counter attack Goal v Sheffield United 7/12/1993

December 1993 and United travelled to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United in the Premier League. The reds were already 2-0 up by half time thanks to goals from Mark Hughes and Lee Sharpe when midway through the second half Sheff United won a corner…

The ball is punched clear by Peter Schmeichel towards the edge of the box and Eric Cantona. He heads the ball onto Lee Sharpe who quickly finds Ryan Giggs. The Welshman takes one touch before playing a brilliant pass into the run of Cantona. Receiving the ball on the half way line, Cantona runs clear of his chasing defender before finishing off the inside of the post.
United at their counter attacking best.
